The launch has been slightly delayed, but yes, this phone will be available for the above price by the end of this month or early next month and you will also get a gift with it. The gift could be anything which I don’t know of. Samsung Pakistan will soon start taking pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy S II.
Samsung Galaxy S II in Pakistan would be the cheapest available anywhere in the world (unlocked). Samsung Galaxy S II costs around PKR 70, 000 when bought from the UK, or PKR 64,000 in India.
Samsung Pakistan has confirmed that the new Galaxy S II will sport the Super AMOLED Plus display and Pakistan version of the phone will NOT get any low-end variants i.e. Super LCD display, lower processor etc.
Big news, eh? I really hope you wait and think over before getting your new smartphone now! And oh, not to forget my upcoming review of the phone where I prove my point “Galaxy S II, the best phone so far!”
Update: Confirmed THRICE from Samsung Pakiastan, that the Samsung Galaxy S II launching here in Pakistan will NOT launch as a variant with LCD display, low CPU etc. So, Samsung Galaxy S II (GT-I9100) will be available for Rs. 55,000 – 57,000. Pre-order page will be online within this week! Enjoy! 😉
well, I think these phones should launch with packages of carriers like Verizon etc
There are a number of reasons why this buy-on-contract model won’t work in
Pakistan. BlackBerry devices in Pakistan are one such example.

oh and there is another version around with the tegra 2 one(i9103), this new one was discovered fairly recently it has a TI OMAP4430 processor and its called i9101(may have NFC but i doubt Sammy is going to bring it here)
